Hubert and I lost something, but please don't help us find it.

The strangest thing has happened. Well, maybe not as strange as it is life-changing. You see, at the beginning of the year, Hubert's work began a contest for changing your life for the better which included drinking a certain amount of water a day, eating a certain amount of fruits and veggies a day, exercising for a certain amount a time a day, and not eating candy. And, if you do these things enough each month for an entire year, you will be entered into a contest to win a cruise. Well, Hubert and I did these things and we did them so much, we have been entered in twice. So, we recently had family pictures taken and I thought I would brag a little bit because we've lost a little weight. So here we are one year ago.
And, with a combined total weight lost of 100 pounds, here we are one year later.
Now, if only we can win that cruise.

Bear Lake in November?

Last weekend, we took a mini vacation to Bear Lake and even though it was the beginning of November and Bear Lake is freezing most of the time, we had a great time. We were so lucky with the weather being clear and the temperature being in the low 60's. No, we didn't go swimming because that would be ridiculous, but we spent a lot of time down at the beach and loved the watching the girls play in the sand, collect shells, and explore. Let me just say it was a much needed time away and we loved every minute of it!
I had to post a picture of this metal, rusty slide which I'm sure will give you a multitude of diseases as it cuts you if and when you foolishly decide to slide down it.
I had to post this picture of these screaming teenage girls who thought it would be funny to go swimming, in Bear Lake, in November. They soon realized how unfunny it was.

Family+Fall+Utah=Perfection

There is a trail behind Lagoon that not too many people know about and it is a place that, during the fall, is stunning. So last week we decided to take the kids and enjoy the beautiful colors that Utah has to offer during the fall and take a few pictures of the kids as well because we think they're pretty cute, too.

The kidlets

Last Christmas, Hubert bought me a wonderful camera and unfortunately, it has taken me almost a year to learn how to really use it! But, I love it and I have loved taking pictures not only of my girls, but also of our good friends and my nephews. Sure, I'm no Ansel Adams, or any other famous photographer whose name I don't know, but it's been really fun to take pictures of so many of the people that I love. So here are some recent ones I took of Ash and the boys, Katie and Boston, and my beautiful girls. Enjoy!

The girls

Lately, Ellie has been a little obsessed with waterfalls and there is a very pretty waterfall in Ogden Canyon, so sometimes I'll pack the girlies in the car, get myself and diet coke, and take a little drive to her favorite waterfall. And when she is done watching the water we, of course, continue to drive through the canyon because, seriously, it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. And because it is so beautiful, Hubert and I decided that we should take pictures of the girls in such a beautiful setting, so here they are. But let me first say that Ellie is in almost all of them because Miss Olivia Jane wasn't being too cooperative.
